Stop Dog Fighting

First things first! In the United States, fighting any dog is against the law and is punishable with jail time and fines. With that out of the way, let’s discuss dog fighting for a quick minute.

Any moral person with a conscience can easily tell you that something is absolutely wrong with dog fighting. Dogs were created for various reasons, fighting is not one of them. Across America and the rest of the world, some people view dog fighting as a lucrative sport. As evident by the amount of dogs that are left maimed, hurt and even dead after fights, we could safely conclude that the dogs ultimately suffer tremendously from fighting each other. Yet, stupid people continue this barbaric sport. If the images on this page do not verify the truth of this topic then nothing else would.

Why Do People Fight Dogs?
In a nutshell, stupidity, ignorance, selfishness and greed. Dogs are fought because greedy idiots think it’s an easy way to make a quick dollar. Without any concern for the dog’s welfare, and in total negligence of the lengthy jail time and fines instituted in most states in the USA, they keep their eyes on the grand prize for having a victorious dog. To add to that, there are also bets placed on the dogs by attendees of the fight. Money that changes hands because of a fight could sometimes range from a few hundred to one hundred thousand dollars.

Dog Fighting And Drugs.
In many cases dog fighting rings are closely related to the drug trade in that jurisdiction. This really throws a blanket of doom over the American Pitbull Terrier. Each time a ring is broken up and drugs are found, onlookers tend to pair the dogs with the crime. Thus the American Pitbull Terrier is seen as mascot dog used by drug addicts and criminals.

The Losing Dog Get’s Killed.
So the fight is over and the winning owner gets the prize. He also gets to take his dog home in preparation for another fight or to be used as a stud or breeder.
In a serious dog fighting ring, a winning dog’s puppies could be sold for tens of thousands of dollars.
On the other hand, the losing dog, if not killed during the fight, will be culled or used as practice bait for another upcoming fighting dog.

Report Dog Fighters.
Many among us know of people that fight dogs but have never report them. It may be difficult to do so because the people involved in fighting are closely related to us or reside in our immediate community. We also may be afraid of reporting someone because of the repercussions. Remember that you can report a crime and be totally unanimous. In the process, you can be saving the lives of many dogs, while at the same time improving your community by getting raid of the illegal activity. Lets say NO to dog fighting.
